This is the first comprehensive exhibition in KYOTO featuring Samurai Arms & Armor hosted by Marutake, the world's preeminent Samurai Armor manufacturer from Kagoshima pref. More than 60 samurai armors from their worksite will be on display at the 2nd exhibition hall in the 1st floor of Miyako Messe known as the largest convention center in downtown Kyoto. The exhibition includes 50 or more reproductions of armors of Daimyo feudal warlords from 1500's Warring States Period, Kabuto helmets, Children's suits of armor, and some related props designed for samurai movies and dramas. A part of the exhibition presents examples of how well the samurai armor is made out of the metal.The exhibition also includes the booth that provides the opportunity for all guests to try on a suit of armor.
Additional support is provided by Samurai Store International, Inc., the authorized international distributor of Marutake products. English guide may be provided throughout the exhibition.
Special Programs:
Feudal lord's procession (Daimyo's retinue) Reappear in Kyoto on Nov-12! More than 50 samurai warlords in precise reproductions of Yoroi armors will parade from Miyako Messe to Heian Jingu Shrine to pray for world peace and the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The parade will start from Miyako Messe at noon, arrival at Heian Jingu Shrine at 12:45pm12:00pm - Parade starts from Miyako Messe
12:45pm - Arrival at Heian Jingu Shrine
14:00pm - Worship ceremony by armored samurai at Heian Jingu
Special Features:
Ashikita Teppo Tai gun-soldiers will participate in the ceremony as the Kato Kiyomasa force.Venue:
